we went to the mountains, 4 of us who have been totally isolated so we decided it was safe. We rafted down a river in west virginia and when we got there i remembered E and I driving over that gorge years ago, maybe in 2015, when I brought the car home to move to Montreal. I picked up E in North Carolina on the way (ish) from New Orleans, and we drove to Pittsburgh for our friend Bibi's wedding. Never thought that 6 years later I'd have left Mtl, E and I would be living in Washington, and I'd be back paddling down that same river under that bridge with these new friends in my new life.

J brought mushrooms and they got totally fucked up and started watching bob ross painting tutorials on youtube and it was boring, so I wandered to the gazebo and looked out at the trees for a long time and thought mushroom thoughts. They came to find me as the sky got dramatic and the fields turned golden, and then a storm rolled in, and we turned up the music and danced our hearts out in the rain.

Speaking of my new life, I left it. Found friends to rent my apartment and I flew to Mtl yesterday. BT picked me up, still so dreamy, with a bag full of my favourite treats, and he dropped me off at the apartment that some friends have kindly let me use to isolate for 14 days. The apartment is in our old neighbourhood and driving through the lively streets felt like I'd been living in black and white and suddenly the world was in technicolour.
