The plumber was 6 h late and came without equipment due to a van malfunction so now I know how to drain and flush a water heater, way to homeown(!), and it’s definitely better. But I still detect a weird smell to the water and it’s gross. I can smell bacteria on my hands OR I am losing my mind. Both seem plausible. Not sure what to do. I don’t have any more time to deal with a plumber. Maybe I just need to flush it a third time?

Ugh.

Had a sort of spa day with e yesterday and then we got dinner with d all the way across town and it was kind of a rush to leave virginia, cross through dc and end up in Maryland.. not at all what I had in mind for a relaxing evening wandering the stores looking at shoes, and I was kind of frustrated that e had organized it all without really asking if it would work for me and more annoyed with myself for not predicting that I was definitely going to be too exhausted to cram all that into a day. but in the end she recognized that it was heading into disasterland and wisely called an Uber and threw money at the problem instead of us taking over an hour to do it all by train. And I was glad to see d and be social, and it was a very nice time. Maybe didn’t need to split the margaritas for 6 between 2 of us but I’ve made worse decisions.

E went off to NYC this morning to speak at an event ~ she is very impressive these days ~ and I am working from home. Still not feeling great and also I am trying to scrub bloodstains out of everything I own. Right now, our new rug, fuck, can I just stop bleeding all the time everywhere.

It’s pouring rain outside and I am loving being all alone here in my apartment.. I feel like I won’t be able to say that much longer… r will pack up and be here in September for real and then it will be ours. I am not sorry about getting married but I definitely don’t think I thought it through.
