okay! well, three cheers for rational narcissa and abnormal-yet-non-cancerous-skin-growths.

and now i can go back to complaining about the heat, or whatever it is I do until the threat of a crisis reminds how lucky i am.

In the meantime, we had elections here. Highlights for me were:
1. the picture of the electronic voting machines getting carried into remote villages by elephant.
2. admiring the special non-removable ink stains that everyone sported on their index fingers to prove they'd voted (and to prevent them from voting again)
3. a friend showing me the special solution that dissolves the special ink, and the 15 extra voting cards he was going to vote on (at 500 rs a vote, how could he resist? his salary is only 3000rs/month)

world's biggest democracy, whatever.

meh... we're dyfunctional oligarchies too. and there's that whole chad fiasco in florida.

i'm making small talk in my journal to avoid writing the fact that today i saw someone after he got hit by my train. and i was smushed up against the door of the first car, so i had to watch them drag him out and place his limp body on a stretcher, and i was all "what's that? oh. that's his arm. wait.. that's not his arm... his arm is over there.
