we recently invested in internet at home and it makes me feel like a real person. What was I thinking, all this time? It was like living in a cave. i stream cbc radio while I eat my breakfast and then step outside and am disconcerted.
it's cold in new orleans, but in a Canada-in-October kind of way, which i can handle just fine. My southern counterparts stay home, curled in the fetal position, under blankets. I kind of like this weather but i can't say so out loud, because of the stereotypes.
That said, it's not THAT cold. I have garden full of cilantro, basil, mustard greens! and kale! in January! Some days the heat comes in from the gulf and the magnolias open.
At night I ride my bike home and the streets are empty and I tell myself I'm safe because it must be too cold for the bad guys.
