the more i study, the more i realize that we really don't know anything at all about the body. i'm at a point in classes where they'll present an enzyme action and be like "well... we're not quite sure how this works". and it's kind of frightening to think how many millions of things can go wrong. by the time we're actually born, we're already a miracle.
what would you do if you were eagerly waiting the birth of your first child, went to the doctor for a routine checkup, and discovered that there was a 90% chance that your child had Down's Syndrome?
