all the thoughts! and no time. But just to say that yesterday I resigned myself to subway for lunch (i *never* eat at subway. is the grossest. But I got caught up in work and it's the only place near my office open after 2pm, and there are about 4 within a 1 km radius, which is SO WEIRD). But when I went out to subway i found this new place just opened next door, so i got a shrimp wrap (delicious) and the guys working there were so giddy because they just opened and it's their dream (awesome) and the place has long island iced tea on tap for happy hour (noted) and my server was so stoned he kept forgetting what he was talking about (funny). And that was overall just much better than the cookie cutter subway experience I was expecting that it made my day.

I sent off a draft to my advisor and he sent back several comments that made it apparent he hadn't read the draft or even effectively skimmed it. I was immediately full of SO MUCH RAGE that i had to take a few deep breaths and remind myself that I never have to see him again after this is over. Then I summarized the whole dissertation into a 3 page summary, which i sent with this note: "From your comments I realized that several things in the plain language summary were not clear to someone who hasn't read the dissertation or didn't know the research questions, so please see the attached" and I went to have a drink.
