Left work so anxious and it felt like i was sliding my teeth along a wooden popsicle stick, which is for me the equivalent of nails on a chalkboard for other people... just typing it, all the hairs rose on my arms and legs and i felt a chill down my back. So. Anxious. who knows why. I'm sitting through a 9-5 class every day this week so I was probably hopped up on sugar and coffee and just people, generally, as i'm more used to huddling in my windowless office cave with my headphones on. But afterwards I met J for a beer and a burger. Wasn't hungry, but I wanted the company (and the beer) and I just got back into town on Sunday so reaching out to friends again. And then suddenly, at the restaurant, there was zydeco! At first just a gal and a guitar, but then an accordion, and then a dude rolled in with a triangle, later switched to spoons. Made my night, gorgeous music. Usually Tuesdays are game/movie nights, and that's fine, but this was a zydeco miracle. Even better, I managed to restrict myself to a single beer, and I left feeling lighter (maybe even, briefly, elated?) and the teeth-on-wood feeling finally gone [cue: eeeeghhhh shivers. so weird]. Need to remember about music and people.

got back home and my roommate seems to be binge-watching all infinity seasons of friends, as this is the third night in a row my living room seems always stuck in second gear.
