Still in mtl. I think it might be one of the coldest Februaries ever, but haven't quite been able to make it back to nola. One of these days. I decided to skip Mardi Gras this year and instead i am sort of hibernating and trying to write. This thing has to get finished in the next 6 weeks. It seems impossible. Next 8 weeks? Let's see.
Today we went skating and the snow was drifting down and there was a couple in front of us - I think in their 50s - ice dancing in perfect unison. Long slow glides and swirls. They were having such a good time, it was so nice just to watch them.
BT and I looked online at what it might cost to buy a place and that was sort of terrifying. i never really understood mortgages before. That kind of thing has always been a distant murky concept. Still is, but just looking was terrifying in terms of cost, responsibility, all of it. I always thought i'd go buy a small house with some land around it and live in the country someday, but I don't want to have to get into a car every time I want something. Anyway, there's no way we could afford anything like anytime soon... i could see bt almost hyperventilating. It was enough to just put the thought out there.
