I've spent a lot of time in blazers this week. I am aware I need to invest in more blazers and maybe even the dreaded button down shirt^ but am resisting because I haven't accepted that part of my life. All the meetings have been interesting, and learning a lot, getting things done, etc.
Yesterday BT called me over Skype from his fancy new i-gadget (touch? pod?). I was in the middle of a meeting, so i just answered with the sound on mute. I was in powerpoint-gazing zone. And BT was in a magical outside land. I could see it was warm with a breeze, there were coloured lights in the distance, and trees. It was night. And I was so startled, I actually caught my breath. In my day of meeting rooms, air conditioning, and fluorescent lights, I had honestly forgotten that there was such a thing as a summer evening in Montreal^^.
^ my work fashion ethos can be summarized as: i don't wear anything that requires an iron.
^^ when i told him that later, he said, 'but i was just in the alley behind my house!'... but whatever.
