it is freezing outside, for once both a) literally and b) relative to regular new orleans temperatures. As a transplanted Canadian, I'm fairly immune - I was fine once I pulled out my longjohns and mittens and furry hat (i always thought it was cute, but BT calls it my "Gaddafi hat" and my father jokes about putting the sheep out of its misery, so maybe not). Biking to work in the crisp cold, tears streaming down my face, I felt GOOD.
E rescued the aloe, ginger, mint and cilantro from the garden and they do NOT look good. The basil is probably beyond saving; i couldn't even look. I don't care that much... I have a full garden overhaul planned for after exams (A.E.). I have a whole life planned A.E.: sewing, baking bread, building the compost. Getting back to working out regularly (hopefully by then all the New Years Resolutioners will have stopped clogging the gym). I like to think that there will be life after this.
In the meantime.... back at it.
