i had a lovely evening yesterday and it was almost commonplace, which makes it even better...

i worked in the Dungeon (my crappy windowless office) all afternoon and emerged into a lovely spring twilight. Biked down Canal St, through the French Quarter and made a quick stop for Lebne and fresh pita. Ran into the house, spared some time to hug the Enormous Puppy, quickly changed and jogged to yoga. It was a perfect class, I can feel how much stronger I am these days when we're doing different triangle poses. I love this yoga class because it doesn't feel pretentious; we work on our assanas and we try to get better, but there is no delusion that we are approaching any kind of Indian Higher Plane. I find that sort of thing very hard to take.

home. Lebne and pita. Hummous. Market-fresh organic tomatoes, freshly grilled eggplant and leftover lentil soup I made the day before. Enormous Puppy and I hung out for a while.

stopped by a neighbour's house to catch up. Class act that I am, I brought us a mason jar filled with boxed wine to share. He asked what type of wine it was and I politely demurred... I'm not sure if he wanted to know because it was delicious or because he wants to make sure he never purchases said wine. Whatever. Boxed wine is my new favourite thing - it lasts forever!

On to see MEN - the sideproject of former Le Tigre members JD and Joanne (sans Kathleen Hanna). Holy danceparty, batman. It's been a long time since I just lost myself in music that way.

What a night. work, friends, yoga, food, dancing. My life here is so rich that I take it for granted sometimes.

Tonight I hope to meet up with the Dreamy DJ so I can spend all day tomorrow walking into walls in a swoony manner.
