I opened CBC to read more about the attacks [and how weird to find about them via the TVs in the gym, while on the treadmill, and we all just keep on running on our treadmills ] But when you look at CBC you see: oh they shot the ambassador from egypt to iraq. Oh, all these people are dead. Oh, everyone else is on high alert. Oh, a hurricane is going to come and wash cuba out to se a.
No wonder we just keep running on our treadmills. There's one thing that's controllable.
Guess there was going to be a bit too much attention to Africa and the environment at this summit. Took care of that, I see.
I asked pr, what would it take to stop it? Usually terrorist/guerilla/liberators* want something - a new state... the end of an occupation... freedom... But, what exactly does al qaeda want except to hit out at western society? Am I oversimplifying this? The 9/11 attacks were clearer, they were symbolic and, in a way, practical. The World Trade Centre and the Pentagon. I got it. But random attacks on subways? Where are we going with this?
Seriously- am i missing something? What do they want?
