second entry of the day? i must really have a new job.

i thought it would be months before i heard but now it seems i'll hear back from both Tulane and UofA in... FOUR WEEKS?! ow. be still my stomach. so soon i'll know where i'll be living next year: Edmonton, New Orleans, or... here. I'd be happy with any of those. Except that, obviously, if i don't get in, i will feel like such a loser and will have to go through existential, career, and quarter-life crises.

Other than that - i'm pretty optimistic about the future. I'm just feeling happy and ready to go out there and meet new people. It's been a long time since I was in this mindset. It is, of course, due to the support of all my friends and family - i don't have to feel like i'm out there roaming with desperation seeping from my pores.

Gilly asked me the strangest thing when she was here: whether i was afraid i'd never meet someone. As in Life Partner, or Soulmate, or One True Love, or whatever it is that we say these days. And i thought, of course i'm not afraid. I'm only 25. And... i'm great. No, really. I'd go on a road trip with me. Not worried at all. It's kind of a different sort of adventure, and I'm pretty happy to be back here and ready to embark upon it. Remind me of this if i go into crisis heartsmash mode, okay?

My very favorite people are the ones I can sit next to in a car, crank up whatever music i want to (be it Patsy Cline, Les Miserables, or Modest Mouse), and belt it out as loud as I can. That's the inner circle.
