Things that made me teary today:

1. a couple and their son, obviously new Canadians, tobbogganing for the first time on the hill by the library today. The whole hill was packed with immigrants, cause they're the only ones crazy enough to enjoy this kind of weather.

2. Some line in a Tragically Hip song that was on the radio, about the hockey player who scored a goal that won the Leafs the cup, and then disappeared on a fishing trip.

'how sad,' i thought... and caught myself being weepy.

Also... i wept my way through the Olympic Museum in Lausanne last month. It was like the Opening Ceremonies, but all concentrated - the best of every olympic moment ever. And they were playing all the applause and I just couldn't control myself.
