ow! i just got hit with this ridiculous wave of homesickness and it was all the more unexpected because i really had an amazing weekend out gallivanting in the hills. Just two hour out of the city, and then into a toy train slowly winding up a mountain into cool clean air... the most beautiful breaths I have ever sucked into my lungs.

Had this total Talking Heads moment on Saturday night, looking at the stars:
The big dipper is there - upside down and in the wrong place, hovering on the horizon - but it's a comforting reassurance that i really am still on the same planet. Sometimes it's hard to tell.
Like now, I have stumbled out to this cliff in the middle of nowhere. And I'm lying here in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night, nursing a beer and a joint, watching giant bats and shooting stars with Marty and a reformed gangster with a stammer.
