There was a gorgeous drive from saskatoon through Banff to Golden (where i was accosted by a gang of 15 year olds who demanded i translate some sort of east indian phrase. geesh. i may look indian, but i'm really not).

The Rockies were beautiful, of course, but i just couldn't handle them. Claustrophobia, hello. They are just too big, especially after six weeks in the space and openness of the prairies.

Then we continued our driving marathon on to vancouver, where i've been for a week. I have been biking biking biking... i feel like a 12 year old. I only lack streamers on my handlebars.

Yesterday, we visited Wreck Beach, off to the side of UBC. I couldn't escape from the fact that I went to a university where you're alternative if you once ate a veggie burger, and UBC has a nude beach. (sidenote: i once had decided to go to UBC.. I had a scholarship, a residence contract, and a student number. Yesterday's campus visit confirmed that my life would have been very different if I had moved here 5 years ago. But i'd probably be a pot smoking hippie on vancouver island right now, and you just can't overanalyse your decisions once you've made them)

Anyway, it was my first nude beach visit, and i enjoyed it so much that I might just have to go back.

I still wouldn't buy beer, or water, and especially not hot nuts from the naked man, though.
