winnepeg for a beautiful day... landing from toronto, it felt like I was descending onto a quilt. Nothing but patchwork farmland in every direction.

Then i got to saskatoon. It snowed my first night.

sigh. i think it's getting warmer. I didn't bring my winter coat, so I've been wearing every item of clothing I brought. I feel like the Michelin Man.

but you know, it's okay. i took the bus from winnepeg to saskatoon. From my window seat, I watched the sun set over the prairies, and then i got to watch it rise 10 hours later. Orange and golds over miles and miles of rolling wheat fields. You can see the sun rise or set from any point. There's nothing in the way. It was so beautiful that i ceased to be irritated by the man sitting behind me who had been stealthily coughing portions of his lungs into a paper cup. For the previous eleven hours. *cough... cough... spit.* repeat. egh.

It really is so flat here. I am sure that if I squinted hard enough, I could see Winnepeg, even though it's hundreds of miles away. I can't wait for thunderstorms.

i've been spending so much time talking and thinking in french that i'm forgetting how to write in english. that's what i'm here for, though.. six week intensive course in french. c'est interessant mais je suis tres frustree.
