argh! this day sucks! i just spilled hot soup all over my thigh, and it really hurts.. now i'm hobbling around in my gym shorts, applying cold compresses. I'm listening to the game on mojo radio - and i just missed the Leaf goal while i was hopping around and cursing.

oh! and then this really really strange guy (who used to walk around wearing antlers) came by and offered to "kiss it better to make the boo boo go away"

16 hours. i thought i could do it, but it turns out that i can't.

8:00 p.m. - 2003-04-21

i'm halfway through a sixteen hour double-shift that started at 8am and will end at midnight.

It probably wouldn't be so bad if i hadn't been working on my paper until 3am last night. That's right... 16 hours of work on four hours of sleep.

I'm guzzling coffee and chocolate chip oatmeal cookies to stay awake, obsessively washing my hands every five minutes (SARS dontcha know? money is so DIRTY. i didn't finish this degree to spend the next two weeks in quarantine.)

I'm not sure why i'm pushing myself to work so much. Mostly it's that I don't have a job and I'm not much inclined to look for one... these paycheques are the last i'll see for quite a while, and I'd rather they be hefty.

hefty? hunh. not sure where that came from.

Another part of me recognizes that it's easier to come to work and continue my four-year-old regular routine of hanging out here and working chatting with everyone.... easier than saying goodbye. easier than cleaning out lockers and mailboxes. easier than emptying out my apartment. fuck. how much do i hate packing? i've moved fourteen times in five years. Not going to miss that.

But the rest of it.. that i'll miss.

five hours and counting... till i'm done this thing. Then out for beers and then bed.
