holy jesus, i am tired.

in hindsight, it probably wasn't such a great idea to skip breakfast and then donate blood the morning after my bender at the Horseshoe.

I've never donated blood before... i've tried to, but i think i've pierced something every year since i turned eighteen, and you can't give blood if you've been tatooed/pierced in the previous year. This year has been miraculously free of needles puncturing holes in incongruous places, so...

i signed up.

I knew they would take blood, but i didn't realize that they'd take so bloody much. They SAID it was only 500mL, but I think they were lying... it looked like at least a couple of litres.

['bloody much?' i swear i didn't do that on purpose. definitely indicative of my mental state]

but it didn't hurt at all, and everyone was so maternal and nice. Nurses are the greatest: As I sat in the recovery area stuffing my face with millions of (free!) cookies, they expressly told me that I should NOT go to the gym today. In fact, they forbade it.

So really, let's sum up:
-i get to walk around all smug-like, like i single-handedly saved a life
-free cookies and juice
-i can take guiltfree naps all day (cause that was such hard work, contributing to humanity and all)
-no gym
-cool little sticker
-did i mention i single-handedly saved a life? the commercials told me so.

go give blood.. it's a good deal all around.
