home!

i drove through the snowstorm from hell [if hell had snow] to get to the airport, and i very nearly landed us in the ditch. more than once. Zero visibility + several centimetres of snow + overpacked car + everybody driving 40km/h on the highway. No fear, we made the flight with twenty minutes to spare (eek!), but it took me almost the whole flight to unclench my jaw and get my heartbeat back to normal.

But i'm here. My brother is sosick, but it means that he is staying home and i get to hang out with him, snotbag that he is.

So many changes. My nana lives with us now, since she had a stroke in April and can't live by herself anymore. She had a fall this morning and doesn't really remember it; my mother wonders if it was a mini-stroke.

Takes 24 hours for symptoms to settle in, so my bro and i are going in there every five minutes to talk to her and see if she's coherent. scary. scary. scary.

but it's beautiful to be here. We went Christmas tree picking last night, and you would have puked to see my whole family + nana + puppy (minus the little sis who is still at school) in the living room putting up the tree. I love it so much.

i won't say i don't miss the wooden house. and i miss the roomies and the good times and the ocean. But you can't have it all, and i really do have a whole lot of goodness going on here.
