"show me a person who doesn't have low self-esteem somewhere, and i'll show you a liar. or a megalomaniac"
That was my conversation with D in a nutshell. I just find it hard to believe there are people out there who don't doubt themselves, who don't have low self esteem in some area. There are a variety of roots, but everyone has had a hard time at some point, right? There can't be people out there who are ever-confident, flying through life, never doubting themselves.
People are tempted to use their low self-esteem as a crutch. They see themselves as victims, and I can't really accept that as valid. We're all victims, then... victims of not having a Vuarnet T-shirt in 1990 or victims of bad acne at age fourteen or victims of bullies/bad experiences/verbally abusive partners/unibrows/excessive armhair/tragic choice of haircut at a pivotal moment/jerk coaches/insensitive teachers.. whatever. Different degrees of severity, but scarring nonetheless.
Am I wrong? Am I the only one who feels like I'm faking it?

Pixies through my earphones and a tasty salad with mango and strawberry chunks. And sunflower seeds and cashews! num.
